Advanced Apprentice

"I originally heard about the Apprenticeship Programme from a relative who was already working for the company. I had been at College and was looking for a job.

I have learn't lots of new skills and knowledge about different aspects of working on site, i.e. health and safety and trade related knowledge and I am currently working on maintaining the site to a very high standard. The work is varied and can be different every day from painting lifts, lobbies and offices to car parks.

I enjoy working with my colleague, it's a great working environment. The team and the staff at the College are really supportive; the work I do onsite is practical and is supplemented by the theory and workshop practice learned at College.

I hope to remain employed at The Mailbox and to continue to improve and enjoy my job."

Stuart's employer, John Davies said "Stuart has made a very positive start to his decorating career. The company is a firm supporter of the Apprenticeship Programme, we also have Electrical Apprentices.

The support we receive from the College is very good, we receive regular site visits.

I would definitely recommend taking on an apprentice; young people need opportunities to train and develop for the future."
