Employers are increasingly demanding our range of work based qualifications as they provide their workforce with practical, work related skills and competences. This follows national trends as NVQs are the most popular vocational work based qualifications awarded in England. With our extensive range of NVQs, South Birmingham College's Business Services Team can provide you with a rapid response service to meet your immediate training needs through our Train to Gain programmes.

We can accredit your employees' existing skills and knowledge, whilst teaching them new skills to achieve nationally recognised qualifications. Customers have commented on the positive feedback they've received from employees who have found the training has given them new motivation and enthusiasm for their jobs.

Training on your premises

You can choose from our range of vocational or Basic Skills programmes. Our Basic Skills programmes are designed to improve your employees' communication, literacy, numeracy and IT skills. Before any training starts we visit your premises and discuss the training programme with you and your employees. We value this three way dialogue and relationship. Our experienced work based Assessors will assess your employees' practical and essential skills, on your premises. We offer NVQs at levels 1, 2, 3 and 4. Each NVQ is divided into units which allow you or your employees to work at their own pace. So it can take from 3 months to 24 months to complete a level. However, it is your hard work and effort that determines the time scale and the outcome.

Flexible Training

Our training solutions are delivered with your objectives, industry sector and target market in mind. The methods of delivery, times, location and duration are all customised to your needs. We offer flexible methods of delivery for all our training programmes to accommodate your shift patterns and deadlines. It's simple - you choose the location, the times and the dates of the training and we will deliver it for you.

FREE training at Level 2

• You or your employees can benefit from FREE training if they don't already have a full Level 2 qualification.
• Funding is also available for people who already have a Level 2 qualification but would like to study for an additional Level 2 qualification.
• In addition to this you or your employees can get FREE training for literacy, numeracy and English language skills at South Birmingham College.

FREE training at Level 3

• If you already have a Level 2 qualification, you could also get funding towards the cost of studying a Level 3 qualification.
• Funding is also available for people who already have a Level 3 qualification but would like to study for an additional Level 3 qualification.
• You can also get full funding towards your course even if you don't have a Level 2 qualification but have the skills or experience to start a Level 3 course.
