Are there any entry requirements?
This course is ideal if you are a school leaver who can attend college for 2 days per week. The course is the equivalent to 3 A Levels.

To enrol on this course you will normally need one of the following:
BTEC First Diploma: Construction would be desirable
Intermediate GNVQ in a related subject
4 GCSEs at grade A*-C including Science, Maths and English
Appropriate knowledge and experience from work or other related qualifications

What will I study?
You will learn by completing projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. You will learn about the employment area you have chosen and develop the skills required to start a career.

The course is made up of 18 units; 5 core units, 1 compulsory specialist unit and a choice of 12 specialist units which enable you to study particular areas in depth.

What can I do after this course?
BTEC National Diplomas are valued by employers and higher education. The skills acquired during your studies should enable you to gain a technical or professional position in industry. Employment opportunities will be opened within various fields such as Architectural Design, Estimation, Planning, Buying, Surveying, Property, Housing, Site Engineer, Site Technician, Site Supervision, Valuation, Building Control, Land Surveying and Town Planning. You could also progress onto the HNC: Construction.
