Are there any entry requirements?
To enrol on this course you will need to have 4 GCSEs at grade A-D, NVQ 1 an equivalent qualification in Wall & Floor Tiling and be committed to becoming a crafts person. If your GCSE grades are below C you will be required to study Key Skills as a mandatory part of your course. This course is ideal if you wish to work as a Wall & Floor Tiler but do not currently work in the industry.

What will I study?
This course will provide you with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to become a Wall & Floor Tiler. You will study through a combination of practical and theoretical skills to form a substantial skill base and understanding of the trade.

You will study the following main units:
Health & Safety
Loading and unloading materials
Basic scaffolding - Wall & Floor Tiling
Simple setting out
Surface drainage
Curved work
Circular work
Simple and complex pattern work
Floors to falls
Tiling steps

Safety footwear is essential for workshop practical activities. You will need to supply your own stationery.

What can I do after this course?
This course will provide you with the skills necessary to further your career as a Wall & Floor Tiler. On successful completion of this course you could progress onto higher level courses like the Level 3 Diploma: Wall & Floor Tiling or the NVQ 2: Wall & Floor
Tiling if you have the relevant site experience and the relevant NVQ units have been completed.
