Are there any entry requirements?
This course is ideal if you are in relevant employment or working in the industry
as a systems designer and your employer is prepared for you to attend college
1 day per week for 2 years. It is also suitable if you work in estimating, sales,
commissioning or contracting staff and need a formal qualification.
To enrol on this course you will need to have one of the following:
A BTEC First Diploma
NVQ 2
4 GCSEs grade C or above (including Maths and Science)
If you are a mature student with experience in the industry or have a City
& Guilds Part III or C Certificate in Electrical Installation, come and
talk to us about your experience.

The programme is mainly theoretical in nature. The Chartered Institute of Building
Services Engineers will accept applications from Certificate holders for membership
in the grade of Licentiate and then for registration as Technician Engineer
with the Engineering Council.
What can I do after this course?
On successful completion of this course you could progress onto the HNC Building
Services Engineering: Electrical/Refrigeration. Others have added supplementary
subjects in the second year of the National Certificate programme and have gone
on to study a Degree at university.
