Are there any entry requirements?
This course is ideal if you are an experienced installer currently carrying out electrical work in dwellings. You don't need formal electrical qualifications or training to enrol on this course particularly if you have qualifications in an associated trade.

What will I study?
You will study the following units:
Applicable building regulations
Checking the correct and safe operation of installed electrical components
Electrical safety legislation, regulations, standards and terminology
Recording of electrical test results and completion of certification
Pre work survey/inspection
Installing and/or re-routing cables
Safe isolation procedures
Special locations
Identification of unsafe electrical situations
New circuit requirements
Earthing and bonding requirements
Lighting installations
Electrical test procedures
Maintenance
Cable and component selection
Supplies
Installation and replacement of electrical components
Basic understandings of 3 phase supplies
