Are there any entry requirements?
To enrol on this course you will need to have a level 2 Diploma, NVQ 2 or equivalent qualification in Painting & Decorating and/or several years' experience as a Painter & Decorator.

What will I study?
You will study through a combination of practical and theoretical skills to form a substantial skill base and understanding of the trade.

You will study the following main units:
Complex paper hanging
Texturing and centre pieces
Advanced specialist finishes
Advanced work in coving
Planning and organising
Monitoring control
Site management
Evaluation of activities
Coordinating activities to apply paint by brush and roller

Safety footwear is essential for workshop practical activities. You will need to supply your own stationery.

What can I do after this course?
On successful completion of this course you could progress onto advanced craftsperson status, study higher level courses like a HNC/HND or NVQ 3: Painting & Decorating if related site experience is evidenced and the related NVQ units are achieved. You could also become Self Employed.
